CONSTRUCTION
Conductor: - Annealed bare copper
- Compact, Class B stranding
Extruded Strand Shield (ESS): - Extruded thermoset semi-conducting stress control layer over conductor
Insulation: - Ethylene Propylene Rubber (EPR), colored to contrast with the black conducting shield layers
Extruded Insulation Shield (EIS): - Thermoset semi-conducting polymeric layer free stripping from insulation
Metallic Shield: - 5 mils annealed copper tape with an overlap of 25%
Jacket: - Flame-retardant, moisture, and sunlight resistant Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC)
Applications:
- Suitable for use in power circuits up to 35kV when installed in open air, conduit, duct, or buried direct in earth, for wet and dry locations
- Used for power applications in chemical plants, refineries, steel mills, industrial plants, and utility sub-stations and generating stations
Features:
- UL Listed as Type MV-105 for use in accordance with the NEC
- Sizes 1/0 AWG and larger are also listed and marked "Sunlight Resistant For CT Use" in accordance with the NEC
Temperature Ratings:
- Normal: 105°C
- Emergency: 140°C
- Short Circuit: 250°C
